
What is OASis?
OASis (Open Art Spaces in Synergy) is a European project co-funded by the European Commission
under the Creative Europe – Cooperation Medium Scale call.
OASis is composed by a network of 14 official partners and numerous associated organizations, working together to break down barriers to the art world for both artists and audiences.
The OASis project was designed to foster work with communities and to ensure that local contexts are respected and valued. In this sense, each OASis presents unique characteristics, specific to its setting, resulting in distinct approaches that are nevertheless coherent in their core purposes.
Our goal is to fosters collaboration between artists and local communities, promoting dialogue, co-creation
and cultural exchange, while providing an opportunity for artist to grow and showcase their talent through a international stage.
From 2025 to 2027, 11 organizations across 10 countries will host 13 Open Art Spaces (OAS), providing free access
to artists of all disciplines from around the world.
Each year, every partner running an OASis will welcome a minimum of 5 international artists and 3 local artists for a residency program. The project will support the residencies in every means, with a specific artist fee and with expenses covering travel, accommodation, meals, and production materials.
Each residency will result in at least one co-created artwork, developed in collaboration with the local community
and the target audiences of each partner.
