“Bom Dia” Residency - Portugal - Deadline 30/10/2026
For 2027, one proposal will be selected to join the “Bom Dia” OASis Residency at Cultivamos Cultura, for a period of 7 to 30 days during the month of March.
The call is open to international creators, artists and researchers from any field, and to practitioners working at the intersection of culture and other disciplines. Applications may be individual or by a group of no more than two people — conditions and funding are the same either way — and the selected resident must be present at Cultivamos Cultura for the whole approved period.
The residency sits within the OASis programme, so it opens onto the local community through artist talks, walks, workshops or open studio visits. São Luís and the wider county of Odemira hold a vibrant and culturally rich community.
Each residency produces an artistic output, which joins the OASis group exhibition in 2027 and is presented both to the local public and across the OASis network. One output is added to the Cultivamos Cultura collection.
This residency includes:
A travel budget of up to €500.
Accommodation in a private room in a shared farmhouse in the centre of São Luís, within the Cultivamos Cultura property.
Access to a shared kitchen equipped for preparing meals.
A project grant of €1.300.
An equitable daily food allowance.
Production and material costs up to €1.600.
Free access to every Cultivamos Cultura space and resource, and to a studio for the whole period.
Important. Production and material funding is limited and must be approved by Cultivamos Cultura before anything is bought. The amount is transferred on invoice, which must carry the tax number (NIF) and the details of Cultivamos Cultura.
Deadlines and application
The call runs until 30 October 2026, 18:00 CET, or until 100 applications have been received — whichever comes first. Proposals submitted later are not considered. Results are announced in the third week of December, by email and through the Cultivamos Cultura and OASis channels.
Projects inspired by local or natural materials are valued, as is a strong ecological interest and a care for the sustainable future of a diverse community. Within OASis, interaction with the local community and exchange with international artists carry particular weight. One thing to weigh before applying: inside São Luís the community speaks mostly Portuguese, and reaching beyond the village means renting a car out of the production grant.
Proposals must include:
A project description or statement of intent (max. 500 words) with images, drawings or diagrams, setting out your vision and how you would engage the community.
An estimated list of resources and materials.
A signed declaration of originality.
Your portfolio or website, and a short CV (max. 4 pages).
A timeline for implementing the project.
Five photographs, drawings or illustrative images of the project, for communication purposes should you be selected.
