OASis Warsaw 2026 - Warsaw (Poland) - Deadline 04/07/2026
The Other Space Foundation, together with Warszawski Klub Wodniaków PTTK and The Academic Association of FoA WUT, invites artists, architects, designers, researchers, filmmakers, video artists, performers, musicians, community animators and other interdisciplinary contributors to join OASis Warsaw 2026.
This year's Warsaw edition takes place across two OASes and two residency periods. Applicants may express interest in one or both contexts; the final selection will assign each selected contributor to one residency only.
OASis #1 – Warszawski Klub Wodniaków PTTK - 26 July – 3 August 2026
Can a harbour become an even more vibrant cultural, social and community space?
The first Warsaw OASis Residency takes place at Warszawski Klub Wodniaków PTTK, a long-standing community harbour on the banks of the Vistula River — for decades a gathering point for boaters, kayakers and local residents.
This residency explores how artistic, architectural, educational and community-based activities can strengthen this unique place while respecting its traditions. Selected activities may also extend to other urban water spaces in Warsaw — riverbanks, waterways, canals and floating locations.
We are looking for contributors working in participatory architecture, spatial interventions, placemaking, music and performance, video art, filmmaking, visual and public art, community animation, and interdisciplinary practices connecting art, ecology, education or active recreation. We especially value proposals involving direct collaboration with harbour users and local communities.
Selected contributors: 5 (3 international, 2 Warsaw-based)
OASis #2 – Open Studio Jazdów - 18 September – 2 October 2026
"For me the most important thing is to find a place where I could play an active role in a community... Unfortunately it's very expensive and has many regulations, so it's almost undoable." — Is it?
Jazdów OASis is based at Wolny Jazdów — an independent community of Finnish wooden houses built in 1945, just 300 metres from the Polish Parliament. Home to dozens of NGOs and informal groups, it is a rare open, non-profit space in one of Poland's most commercialised cities, increasingly under pressure from gentrification.
We invite socially engaged artists to explore what it means to protect and activate places like this. We welcome proposals across architecture, spatial design, installation, filmmaking, visual arts, and any other discipline capable of generating real impact — particularly with children, youth and local communities. Applicants should come with concrete ideas: workshops, co-creation sessions, community-based projects or other interventions, with full creative freedom on approach.
Selected contributors: 2 (1 international, 1 Warsaw-based)
