Artistic Intelligence – Nature and Technology | KIBLA, Maribor, Slovenia | Autumn 2025

Association for Culture and Education KIBLA (ACE KIBLA) is launching its first OASis Residency in Maribor, Slovenia, in autumn 2025, inviting 4 international artists, researchers, and interdisciplinary practitioners.

The residency will explore the intersection of nature, technology, and cultural/natural heritage in the Maribor region, engaging with themes such as ecology, energy, history, and the future. Artists are encouraged to work across analog and digital media – including AR, VR, XR, AI, visual arts, performance, music, literature, and community-based practices.

Residencies will take place at KIBLA PORTAL (a former textile factory turned cultural hub) and KIBLA2LAB, equipped with advanced XR, 3D scanning, and photogrammetry technologies. Participants will be encouraged to combine research, production, and artistic experimentation, involving the local community through interactive, participatory approaches.

Applicants must be based in EU Member States or Creative Europe eligible countries.

• €1300 gross artist fee

• Address Maribor’s people, history, and social context

• Show strong artistic originality and quality

• Are research-driven within art and media culture

Selection & Results

Applications will be evaluated on artistic quality, originality, feasibility, and co-creation strategies.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an online interview.
Final results will be announced by 10 October 2025.
