Artistic Intelligence – Nature and Technology - Maribor (Slovenia) - Deadline 19/10/2026
Association for Culture and Education KIBLA (ACE KIBLA) opens its second OASis Residency in Maribor, Slovenia, and invites 2 international artists, researchers and interdisciplinary practitioners to take part in autumn 2026.
The call is open to practitioners working across analog and digital media — audio and visual culture, fine art, performance, literature and theory — and to those whose work involves community practice. The residency looks at where nature and technology meet: augmented, virtual and mixed realities, artificial intelligence, and the cultural and natural heritage of the Maribor region, read through ecology, energy and the passage from its history to its future.
Work can move from analog to digital and back. Sound and vision, interactivity, audience participation and collaborative practice are all welcome, and artists are encouraged to keep their own poetics while letting the place, its people and its environment shape the outcome.
We are looking for proposals that:
Speak to the city, its people and its society.
Are artistically original and grounded in the local context.
Can be research-driven within art and media culture.
Carry a strong artistic quality and a voice of their own.
Residency period: 19–27 November 2026. Applicants must reside in an EU Member State or in a country eligible under the Creative Europe programme.
What we offer:
An artist fee of €1.300 gross.
A travel budget of up to €300.
Accommodation in Maribor, in a private or shared room.
Access to studio and workspaces.
Curatorial support throughout the residency.
Materials and production support, agreed in advance.
How to apply. Send your materials to kibla@kibla.org by 19 October 2026.
Your application must include:
